Commercial Projects

I have enjoyed working with a number of companies to create imagery for packaging, advertising, visitor centres and murals. Please get in touch for quotations.

Blasket Centre Portraits

These soft pastel drawings were made for the entrance hallway of the Blasket Centre, County Kerry, Ireland. These fine faces are some of the writers from the Blasket Isles, home of a cannon of Irish writing from the early 20th Century.

Arbikie Highland Distillery

The story of Arbikie dates back seven generations, and it was the legendery great uncle Bill who first moved to Lunan Bay on the east coast of Angus in the 1920s.

In creating the Arbikie Highland Rye, the family payed homage to the traditions by using only the finest ingredients and storing the spirit in casks to age to perfection. My artwork reflects this process, capturing the essence of the barrels that have been used to store the rye for years, allowing it to develop its unique flavor and character.

Arbikie Distillery Visitor Centre

These were made for the new Arbikie Distillery visitor centre that sits above Lunan Bay on the Angus Coast. One print looks down from the fields of the Arbikie estate where the spirits are made, the other, from the castle ruin next the Lunan Bay, looking up to the fields where the crops are grown to make the spirits.

Diago Oban 25 yo special edition malt

My responsibility was to design the packaging illustration for the special edition 25-year-old malt, with the objective of showcasing the traditional cask storage methods used for this magnificent Scottish whisky.

Cover: Larksong Static – Martin Malone

Selected from his three collections and various pamphlet publications, Larksong Static offers a first synopsis of Martin Malone’s work so far. From his resounding alliances of memory and geography in The Waiting Hillside, through the complicated emotional landscape and fine-art sensibilities of Cur, to the brilliantly achieved cultural memory work of his Great War sequence, The Unreturning, this selection captures a poet staking serious claim for his significance to the contemporary scene.

Book Cover: A Lone Star Weeps by Joseph Glackin

It is a dark and compelling crime mystery with a brilliantly fresh main character. Inspector Gloria is an out and out treat: realistic, determined and with a very human sense of humour. Joe Glackin digs deep into the reader's soul and ignites a powerful sense of ethical urgency which is rare in crime fiction, and he harnesses it to create a wonderfully tense and suspenseful read. – DIANE SETTERFIELD
